The Voyer Paradigm

There are many ways to learn Voyer’s methods. Which training program you chose depends on your professional goals and interests. There are three main ways to learn Voyer’s work: Voyer’s Osteopathy ProgramSomaTherapy programs to learn manual therapy, and SomaTraining programs to learn Voyer’s exercise, rehabilitation and wellness methods.

The SomaTherapy programs interest those who are already involved in a manual medicine specialty including, but not limited to: osteopaths, chiropractors, physical therapists, massage therapists, acupuncturists, physiotherapists, and athletic trainers.  One does not have to be one of the above-named practitioners to take SomaTherapy training classes, but it is the student’s responsibility to know their scope of practice and local laws governing practice and use of these techniques.

The SomaTraining programs typically interest those who are interested in working with athletes at all levels and those who are interested in using exercise and wellness techniques to improve the general health and function of their clients. The SomaTraining curriculum integrates well with the SomaTherapy curriculum to form a comprehensive rehabilitation paradigm.  The completion of the SomaTherapy and SomaTraining programs along with a test and thesis leads to direct admission to the third year of the Osteopathic program at the Sutherland Academy in Montreal, Quebec.

Special Programs:  Guy Voyer, DO often offers special one-time programs outside of these more formal certification programs.

A NOTE ABOUT ELDOA- Guy VOYER, DO may best be well known for this original work developing the ELDOA methodology of exercise.  We often come across practitioners who refer to all of VOYER’S work as ELDOA. This is incorrect. ELDOA is only one part of a more detailed and comprehensive methodology of treatment and exercise.
